About Richard:
As a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT) I work with Individuals, Couples and Families. I work in tandem with clients, recognizing the client as the expert on their life experience. It is important to work toward a balance between Mind, Body and Spirit by promoting growth through a Psychological, Spiritual and Emotional focus. I am also registered with the College or Registered Psychotherapist of Ontario (RP – crpo.ca). The Mission at Cultivating Lives for Life is to work collaboratively with you (and couples and families as well) as the expert on your life experience. Meeting people where they are in life; together, building on the wellness while sifting through life’s challenges. As part of The Therapeutic Process, I offer one-to-one therapeutic counseling working together with individuals, couples and families towards their goals of reconciliation and emotional, spiritual and psychological health. I come alongside clients and work together to affect positive growth and change. I opened my private practice in Brampton Ontario in 2003. I gained clinical status with the Ontario and the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (OAMFT, AAMFT respectively) in August of 2008 as a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT). I have created and implemented various workshops concerning communication, conflict management/resolution, personality profiles, marriage and pre-marital workshops. I am currently creating a new workshop entitled “Check-Mate”. This workshop will be specifically designed to help those thinking about marriage further explore their compatibility. I have experience in several theoretical approaches to match with the issue and client at hand. Some of these approaches include Family Systems and Cognitive Behavioral methods such as Solution Focus, Narrative and Object Relations.
