Kelsie Hernandez earned her MA in Clinical Psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy from Pepperdine University in 2006. She is a Registered Psychotherapist (with the CRPO) and a Registered Marriage and Family Therapist (RMFT). Also, Kelsie is certified in Child-Parent Psychotherapy and Infant Massage. Kelsie completed her education, training, and first ten years of clinical experience with children and families in the inner cities of Los Angeles, California, specializing in the assessment and treatment of children suffering from severe emotional and behavioral challenges as a consequence of early trauma. After moving to Toronto in 2014, Kelsie now serves as the Family and Systems Specialist on an inter-disciplinary assessment team, providing comprehensive trauma- and attachment-informed, relationship-based family assessment with some of Ontario’s most complex children and families. Kelsie strongly believes that when children and their families feel unconditionally loved and deeply connected to their shared story, they experience a feeling of both belonging to one another and being inextricably bound together. Perhaps we can all best achieve this through briefly stepping back to our past together, in a humble and brave attempt to help change our present and make it richer.
